Richborough Estates planning application in Bampton gets green light.
A planning application for a residential development in the village of Bampton has been approved by West Oxfordshire Planning Committee.
The picturesque village of Bampton has become better known as the fictitious village of Downton Abbey in recent years and as a result has experienced a surge in admirers to the area.
Through an in-depth public consultation process, Richborough Estates was able to form a strong case for both planners and the local community, that will see 160 homes built of which 50% are classed as affordable housing. The development will include a number of benefits to the local community including the delivery of an extension to Bampton Church of England Primary School on Bowling Green Close.
We are delighted that our planning application for the residential development on New Road in Bampton has been approved. Forging strong relationships with the local planning authority, local stakeholders and our professional team were key to shaping this compelling proposal. We’re especially pleased to be able to offer a number of direct benefits to the local community as part of the development, including an extension to Bampton Church of England Primary School.
The new residential development will enhance the existing infrastructure and will help alleviate the existing flood issues within Bampton. We’re excited about creating a great new place for people to live.
