In previous editions of our newsletter we have waxed lyrical about a fantastic site in the historic Leicestershire village of Great Bowden, after achieving planning permission for the site earlier in 2016.
We are now pleased to report that the site on the northern edge of the medieval village has been sold to Mulberry Developments for a price in excess of £5 million. The developer will now seek to build the 50 new homes outlined in our planning application, along with a new country park and allotments.
Achieving planning permission for the site was no mean feat. The village lies within a Conservation Area, so we undertook extensive consultation with local residents and key stakeholders to ensure that our proposals were in keeping with the area, whilst also meeting the wider housing demands of the region. Testament to the quality of the proposals and our approach to the application is the fact that the application was approved at planning committee.
Mulberry Developments will now take ownership of the scheme and be responsible for delivering a high quality development. With their reputation for low volume, high quality housing in beautiful locations they are precisely the right developer to make the most of the site and its location.
We will be watching with anticipation as the first houses are constructed and the new community begins to take shape.
