Birmingham-based land promoter, Richborough Estates is supporting local charities by donating events tickets to their corporate box at the Barclaycard Arena.
The company secured the box for 12 months for corporate entertainment and receives 14 tickets and parking allocations for every event on the arena’s calendar, including concerts, comedy shows and sporting events.
Richborough realised that they wouldn’t be able to attend every event and rather than waste the opportunity, opted to donate them to worthy local causes.
So far, tickets have been donated to charities and organisations including the Midlands Air Ambulance, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, NICE Centres for Movement Disorders, and Help for Heroes.
Events include a concert by American band Blink 182, comedian Micky Flanagan, the live-action version of children’s TV show Paw Patrol, Peter Pan, and the Birmingham Military Tattoo.
Karl Parkinson-Witte, joint-managing director, said: “We realised that having access to the box is a fantastic opportunity to see some of the best arena events in the country first-hand. However, not every event is appropriate for corporate hospitality and rather than have the box sitting empty, we thought it might be worthwhile to donate these tickets to some local good causes.”
Some organisations, such as the Air Ambulance and Birmingham Children’s Hospital have raffled the tickets in order to raise badly needed funds to support their ongoing work.
Karl continued: “We’re really happy that the Air Ambulance and Children’s Hospital have raised over £1,000 each by raffling off these tickets. The work undertaken by all of the charities to whom we’ve donated tickets is absolutely vital and we’re truly pleased to be able to support them in whatever way we can.”
