We have submitted a planning application for a new mixed-use development to the north of the town of Congleton in Cheshire East.
The plan for the 53 acre-site represents something a little bit different for us, as alongside the provision of 185 homes over 23 acres, it includes 28 acres of commercial employment land and a further 1.7 acres of retail provision.
The site is part of the wider North Congleton Masterplan which has identified a substantial area to the north of the town as having the potential to make a significant contribution towards the economic growth of Cheshire East and its future prosperity.
The delivery of an urban extension that comprises high quality employment-led growth, homes and community infrastructure, is also a key objective of the Council’s emerging Local Plan Strategy.
Jonathan Bloor, Richborough Estates’ Managing Director – Western Division, said: “We’re expecting a planning decision in the summer, at which point we’ll be seeking development partners to bring forward the various land uses. The plans also include delivery of a new extension road off the existing Viking Way, work on which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.”
