We’re delighted that our site at Ottershaw, Surrey, has been allocated in the newly-adopted Runnymede 2030 Local Plan.
Known as Ottershaw East, the site was located in the Metropolitan Green Belt and will include at least 200 homes as well as a new GP surgery.
Plan inspector Mary Travers confirmed there were exceptional circumstances which justified the site’s release from the Green Belt.
We will also deliver more than 17 acres of Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space (SANG).
This will see a mix of Green Belt grazing land and woodland enhanced through the introduction of semi-natural grassland, new native hedge planting, new woodland understory planting, a new woodland glade, a circular walk connecting to existing public footpaths, and a dog dipping pond and exercise area.
The SANG will be available for use by both the residents and the wider public.

“As well as delivering much needed new homes we will be opening up privately-owned Green Belt land for public use. This will provide both recreational and wildlife benefits; and importantly will help take pressure off the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area.”
We will submit a planning application later this year following community consultation.
