Earlier this year the Government launched its Planning for the Future consultation, proposing reforms of the planning system to:
- streamline and modernise the planning process
- bring a new focus to design and sustainability
- improve the system of developer contributions to infrastructure
- ensure more land is available for development where it is needed
From our perspective there are good and bad elements within this White Paper but caution is required.
We urge that radical changes are properly thought through and that Local Planning Authorities don’t suspend work on emerging plans in the interim.
