Land promoter Richborough Estates submits new planning application
We have submitted an outline planning application for up to 265 high quality market and affordable homes in the picturesque market town of Steyning, West Sussex.
Our proposed 35-acre development is located off King’s Barn Lane and will deliver a mix of house types ranging from bungalows to semi-detached and detached properties.
More than 11 acres of public open space are also planned, including children’s play areas, a community orchard and a network of footpaths and cycle paths for new and existing residents.
The site is less than 10 minutes’ walk from schools, nurseries, medical centres and the shops and facilities of Steyning High Street. Cycle bus, train and road links are all within easy reach.

Jonathan Bloor, Managing Director of Richborough Estates’ Western Division, said: “We’re delighted to submit this application for new homes in Steyning, which has recently been named by The Times as one of the UK’s best places to live.
“Our proposed development will provide much needed new homes in this desirable town which is surrounded by South Downs National Park and less than ten miles from Brighton and the south coast.
“Thanks to our landowner and team for their hard work to get to this point, which has included consultation with the local community and other stakeholders.
“We hope to secure planning permission early next year and will begin marketing the site to prospective development partners later this month.”
Our project team includes: Blue Fox Planning, Pegasus, Turley, Tyler Grange, Hub Transport Planning, RPS, PJS, Pioneer Property Services, Trower & Hamlins and ASL.
