Land promoter Richborough Estates sells residential site in Sholden, Kent to housebuilder Barratt David Wilson
Located off Sandwich Road, the 12-acre site has outline planning permission for 110 new market and affordable homes including starter homes, bungalows and larger family dwellings. New children’s play areas, woodlands and footpaths and cycle routes will also be delivered.

The site was part allocated in Dover District’s emerging Local Plan for 100 homes and the sale comes after Richborough Estates secured an outline consent in March 2022.
Nick Banks, Regional Director at Richborough Estates said: “We’re delighted to have completed on this sale to Barratt David Wilson – they have been a pleasure to deal with and we are confident they will deliver a fantastic scheme which will make a great place to live.
“A great deal of work has gone into this scheme, with input from our planning, design and technical divisions as well as extensive stakeholder discussion and consultation.
“I’d also like to thank our consultants and legal advisors including Pinnacle Planning, Edge, Tyler Grange, BWB, Gateley Legal and Bickley Martin for their efforts in securing this successful outcome. Thanks also to the selling agents Mark Linington of RPC Land & New Homes and Tom French of BTF.”

Luke Cooper, Development Director at Barratt David Wilson: added: “‘Barratt David Wilson are delighted to have completed on the land at Sholden. We would like to thank Richborough Estates who were excellent to work with throughout.
“This site represents a great opportunity for the business to expand its presence within Eastern Kent, which continues to demonstrate a strong market. Sholden and Deal continue to be popular locations and we are excited to have acquired another site in the area. We look forward to delivering a great scheme at Sholden which will assist in the delivery of much needed market and affordable housing for the District.’
