About the role
Richborough is seeking a self-motivated, disciplined Technical Coordinator, to be an integral part of the Technical department, overseeing and supporting external consultants on each of our residential or mixed-use developments.
This will involve project management support of all technical matters and the need to review and recommend improvements to the reports and designs prepared for planning application, ensuring they align with the aspirations/restrictions imposed across each discipline.
With assistance from the Technical Director, you will be responsible for the identification and preparation of constraints plans to facilitate early preparation of development layouts and subsequently ensure the proposals are updated when additional constraints and opportunities are identified.
You will support the regional teams in project managing, providing advice and guidance as required to ensure all relevant technical matters are identified and actions completed to facilitate the efficient and timely preparation of planning applications.
You will ideally have residential housebuilder experience in a similar position with engineering bias and knowledge of the planning process.
Key requirements for this Richborough job
- Ideally qualified to HNC level or higher or with suitable industry experience
- At least two years’ experience working within the Technical team of a housing developer/contractor or Commercial development operation.
- The ability to manage numerous tasks
- Able to support the preparation of the scope and appointment of external consultants
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation such as building regulations, particularly in ensuring developments, can meet existing and emerging requirements.
- Able to understand, review and capitalise on amendments made to technical related designs and reports, for example, highways and drainage designs, ecological strategies, landscaping etc
- Able to understand engineering drawings and a good knowledge of minimum design requirements.
- Able to carry out initial technical reviews highlighting relevant constraints such as utilities, legal easements, sources of contamination.
- Good knowledge and recent use of AutoCAD and able to interpret the technical demands of a site.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, ensuring you’re able to clearly convey the work that we procure and ensure key stakeholders such as external bodies are engaged with.
- Eye for detail and the ability to work through development difficulties while sometimes having to think outside of the box.
Although the role will be office based, there is an opportunity to work from home on a hybrid basis following successful completion of a probation period.
