We’ve invested in our in-house design team with the appointment of accredited urban designer, Kirren Channa.
With her MA in Architecture from BCU and degree level experience from Lever Turner Cowdell, Chetwoods and STOAS, Kirren is looking to expand her knowledge of masterplanning and urban design by working alongside Group Design Director, Charlotte Lewis and Senior Urban Designer, Neil Oxley at our Birmingham HQ.
Joining Richborough at the start of the year, Kirren has hit the ground running on of planning applications from across the UK, as we look to build on our successful 2024.
Our in-house design team is seen as a key point of difference to other land promoters, by offering a comprehensive and co-ordinated approach to unlocking the full development potential of a site. Unlike competitors that rely on external consultants, our approach ensures schemes consistently achieve design quality and meet local planning requirements. This integrated expertise maximises commercial value, encourages collaborative working relationships with landowners and stakeholders, and has proven successful with over 26 sites submitted for planning consent in 2024.
Kirren Channa, urban designer at Richborough said: “I’m thrilled to join Richborough’s design team and contribute to its reputation for problem-solving masterplans. The opportunity to collaborate closely with Charlotte, Neil, and the wider team on projects across the UK is an exciting challenge, and I’m eager to build on my expertise in masterplanning and urban design to help shape new places.”
Charlotte Lewis, Group Design Director at Richborough said: “Kirren’s appointment strengthens our in-house capabilities and reinforces our commitment to delivering creative, high quality and deliverable schemes which leave positive, lasting legacies for our landowner clients.
Our team’s ability to produce market facing designs not only helps streamline the planning process but also positions Richborough as a trusted partner in delivering sustainable, locally distinctive new places to live and work. Our repeat work from agents and housebuilders is testimony to this. We’re so pleased to have Kirren on board as part of our ambitious growth plans”.
