Richborough is always taking it to the next level, and this time it’s hiking the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in less than 24 hours!
Over 20 Richbronians are embarking on the gruelling challenge on July 10-11th which has a super-tough timetable:
Thursday 10th July
8am: Ben Nevis Scotland, 9 miles
7pm: Scafell Pike England, 6 miles
Friday 11th July
4am: Snowdon Wales, 7 miles
Our target is to raise £20,000 for Birmingham charity St Basils to help their incredible work with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This will include funding an outdoor adventure trip to Coniston in the Lake District, for the young people to develop lifelong skills. They will enjoy four days of swimming in lakes, climbing mountains, abseiling in quarries, connecting as a group and overall have fun!
Our three peaks mission will be led by Elite Adventures, who will provide transport and lead us up the mountains. We will also be joined on the challenge by Barrie Hodge, St Basils’ Head of Fundraising and Communications.
Paul Campbell, chief executive at Richborough said: “I’m really proud of all the Richbronians stepping up to this challenge which is set to be a real test of endurance, teamwork, and determination. We have committed to extensive training programmes to ensure we’re all in tip top shape.
“I urge our friends, colleagues and clients to sponsor our efforts and support the brilliant work of St Basils. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help homeless young people. We’re already raised over £4,000 through donations and kit sponsorship and I’d like to thank all our supporters for their incredible generosity so far.”
Barrie Hodge, Head of Fundraising and Communications at St Basils added: “What an incredible thing the team at Richborough are about to do for our cause. They have been such amazing supporters of ours over the last few years, but this takes it to another level. Every penny they raise will have a massive impact on the lives of young people facing homelessness in the West Midlands. On behalf of them all, thank you so much.”
