We’re thrilled to have secured outline planning consent for a sensitive residential development in Southwell, Nottinghamshire.
Submitted and managed by Richborough’s Planning Delivery Team alongside the regional team in November 2025, the application was swiftly approved at Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Planning Committee on 12th March 2026. The scheme will deliver up to 70 high-quality homes, including 30% affordable housing, along with associated parking, infrastructure, public open space and children’s play areas.
The development sits on an 8.1-acre site on the west side of the historic market town of Southwell, offering carefully integrated housing within a sensitive and attractive setting. New and existing footpaths will connect the development to surrounding areas, enhancing local connectivity.
Richborough’s in-house design team led the architectural direction, ensuring the extension responds to Southwell’s historic character and material palette. By guiding a collaborative consultant process, the team created a contemporary development that respects the town’s spatial character, with careful attention to scale, form and detailing.
