Hurst Wickham Barn, College Lane, Hurstpierpoint

The proposed development of the erection of ten new-build dwellinghouses and the development of the erection of six no new-build dwellinghours and associated works have both been dismissed.

The main issues are:

- the effect of the proposed dwellings on the character and appearance of the surrounding area with particular regard to the setting of Hurst Wickham Conservation Area; and

- whether the proposals would be consistent with the settlement hierarchy set out in the DP.
