Richborough took a leading role in bringing forward 58.5 acres of strategically located land across two sites west of Bennetts Road in Keresley, just 4.5 miles from Coventry city centre.
These sites form a key part of the Keresley Village Sustainable Urban Extension—an important residential-led allocation within the adopted Coventry City Local Plan. The wider scheme will deliver a new primary school and local centre, creating a vibrant and sustainable community.
Following a comprehensive consultation process, we proactively submitted two outline planning applications in March 2022 to deliver up to 550 high-quality new homes, including 25% affordable housing.
Our first application proposed up to 260 homes with new vehicular access from Bennetts Road. The second outlined plans for 290 homes, with access from both Bennetts Road and Fivefield Road. Together, the sites will feature a diverse mix of housing types, integrated pedestrian and cycle routes, significant highway improvements, landscaping, drainage infrastructure, public open spaces, and children’s play areas.
We secured outline planning permission for both sites in March 2023—unlocking the full development potential—and in September 2023, we successfully agreed terms with Countryside Partnerships as our delivery partner, marking a major step toward bringing this new community to life.
