A Public Inquiry was held between 17th and 20th June 2014 and the appeal was allowed on 1^st August 2014.

Cheshire East Council mounted a High Court Challenge on 11^th September 2014 which the Secretary of State and ourselves defended.  There were five grounds of challenge and unfortunately the Court upheld one of the grounds in the Judgment which was handed down on 24^th February 2015.

We believe the Judgment erred in law and our application for permission to appeal to the Court of Appeal was filed on 18^thMarch 2015 and on 8^th May 2015 Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Sullivan granted our application.

The Court of Appeal issued Judgment on 17^th March 2016.

Cheshire East Council were granted permission to appeal to the Supreme Court due to the national significance of the matter and the Hearing was scheduled for 23^rd and 24^th February.

On 10th May the Supreme Court dismissed the Council’s appeal and our planning permission was preserved.

The site was sold to Stewart Milne Homes in October 2018.

Following a successful marketing campaign in 2016, the site was sold to William Davis Ltd.

Richborough submitted an outline planning application for up to 113 dwellings on land to the north-west of Baldwin’s Gate which is approximately 14 acres in August 2013.

The application was recommended for approval at the planning committee on 7th January 2014 but was deferred to allow a site visit. The scheme was refused on 18th February against officers recommendation.  An appeal was held for 6 days commencing on 6^th November 2014 and the appeal was allowed on 12^th January 2015 with a partial award of costs.
