Richborough Estates controlled a 55-acre site to the north of the town of Congleton in Cheshire East.
In 2020 we submitted a planning application for a new mixed-use development, proposing 185 homes, 28 acres of commercial employment land and a further 1.7 acres of retail space.
The site was allocated in the Cheshire East Local Plan, forming part of the wider North Congleton Masterplan.
In March 2021 we secured outline planning application and a development partner, Clowes Developments.
The mixed-use scheme comprises the 23-acre Viking Park which will form an extension to the well-established Congleton Business Park and is set to deliver in the region of 500 jobs.
Also included within the scheme proposals are the development of:
- up to 175 homes
- a park wildlife corridors
- a neighbourhood retail centre.
Access will be via the new Congleton Link Road
The residential element of Phase 1 was sold to Bloor Home who have submitted a reserved matters application for 154 new homes.
An additional 40 units are being promoted by Richborough Estates.
